Couldn't live without my zodiac2 September 23, 2007 Ms. Ashley Deveney (United Kingdom) ever since i bought my Zodiac PDA back in 2004, i have been forever discovering more useful functions to use it for than just its default loadout of software
I'm a bit of a gamer so the form factor of the zodiac felt kinda good to me
Also, i've got terrible short term memory, and also being dyslexic doesn't help, after getting used to the software....i've actually found the zodiac to be very useful
Other than its basic organiser functions, it easily bests the iPod in my opinion, it wins over any and every MP3 player out there especially with pocket tunes installed, not as a stand alone device, but as a complete multimedia experience in your hand.
I've loaded out my zodiac with 2x 4gb SD cards which give an impressive storage capacity
I've watched videos on this device and it's a real treat on a 320x480 widescreen, even on the move
My only fear is if my zodiac were to die, i hope i can get another zodiac, because i wouldn't want ANY other PDA
Awesome July 25, 2007 Melissa H. Newlon (Downingtown, PA USA) I love this product, it works really well and fun to mess around with. I am just in love with this i was thinking about a psp for a while but after this i threw that right out of my head. Zodiac 2 is deff. worth it.
Spectacular PDA and game device July 18, 2007 Ranjan Chari (New York City) I was in the market for a PDA and most of the products I found were either too pricey with functions I really did not need or were just plain PDA's with a bunch of regular applications. I got to thinking that it would be really cool to have a PDA that could run DOS applications and Games or even stuff off the old Amiga and Commodore. After a few hours of research I stumbled upon the GeoFox and the Zodiac. The Zodiac does run a lot of games ported over from other platforms. There are not too many titles but it had enough titles like GoldenAxe and Altered Beast to grab my attention. There were a few brand new Zodiacs on ebay- quite cheap. I picked one up and now, I am happily running Doom, Spyhunter, StuntCar and have atleast 5 more games that I have not tried yet. With this device, you get the gaming power along with all the stuff you see in the regular old PDA's that every person is carrying.
I plan to try playing Flashback next. It's an absolute pity that this product did not succeed commercially. Too few people understood what exactly this could do. BTW, you can also browse the internet just fine using this - you'll need to buy some addons however. Buy a 2gig SD card along with this and carry a whole lot of data along with you. Almost all of it is freeware.
I think this is one of the best PDAs. May 12, 2007 palma 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've marked 5 stars, because the PDA has a large screen, a large memory, a synthesizer chip, stereo speakers, 2 SD cards slots and an analogue controller. This strongly-built electronic organizer has a great abilites in variety of field --- multimedia playing, business and scientific calculation etc ---.
Good but far from perfect. May 6, 2007 Juan Estrada Siliezar (Miami, FL, USA) Pros> Good Screen size and resolution. Decent processing power. Analog Stick, Thin and light, Intuitive custom interface based on palm os5.
Cons> Battery life not as good as expected (considering it has dual LiIon batteries) you can get about 4 hours of audio playback with screen off, around 2 hour and a half playing or watching videos and around 7 hours reading ebooks (not continuously). When charge gets to around 20% it will disable SD slots to preserve energy. Some buttons are hard to press. Manufacturer went out of business so there is no official support (you can find a lot of resources online). Stylus seems likelly to get lost.
Overall, a good powerfull palm pda. What would have made it 5 stars? Well, longer batt life *even if it adds up some weight and bulk*, More game titles, Better stylus placement and maybe some rubber handles for better grip.
